CRANIAL OSTEOPATHY
What is Cranial Osteopathy? This is a question we get asked a lot!
Essentially it is form of diagnosis and treatment that is both subtle and gentle. It relies on a highly developed sense of touch to detect strain and a lack of ease in body tissues. Very gentle hands on treatment is then applied to change any pattern of strain that is found. Commonly this involves holding areas of the head and pelvis but any body area can be focussed upon. For the patient the treatment is so gentle as to sometimes seem imperceptible, compared to the more robust osteopathic techniques.
Consequently cranial osteopathy is frequently used to treat babies or adults who may feel fragile and uncomfortable with larger and more obviously forceful treatment methods. Cranial treatment can also be highly relaxing, therefore a great approach to treating stress and anxiety. Despite being a very gentle approach for some people the results can be dramatically beneficial.
